Following a year of inactivity in the Indian market, Kia is poised to conclude the year with a significant product launch.  The company is preparing to introduce its all-new Syros SUV, scheduled for release on December 11, 2024.  This vehicle will be available with both electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrain options, and will be positioned in the lineup between the Sonet and Seltos models.  What is the projected price point for this new Kia SUV?

Projected Kia Syros Pricing

Kia India is preparing to introduce the new Syros SUV in the Indian market.  This sub-4-meter vehicle will occupy a segment above the Sonet, offering a more refined design and premium interior compared to its predecessor.  Powertrain options will include petrol, diesel, and electric variants.  What will the pricing be?

The Sonet's on-road price in Mumbai ranges from ₹9.33 lakh to ₹19.04 lakh, while the Seltos's price ranges from ₹12.90 lakh to ₹24.82 lakh.  Both models currently utilize internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrains.  Based on this, we project the Kia Syros's ICE variant to be priced between ₹10 lakh and ₹22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).  The electric vehicle (EV) variant, however, is anticipated to command a higher price, ranging from ₹13 lakh to ₹24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).  What features and specifications can we expect at these price points?

Anything else?

The Kia Syros presents a more practical alternative to the Sonet SUV, offering enhanced rear passenger space and increased headroom via its tall-boy design.  The interior boasts a premium cabin incorporating new Kia design elements, such as a 2-spoke steering wheel.  Furthermore, it will be a feature-rich SUV, potentially including Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera.

Kia's Syros will likely utilize Sonet's petrol and diesel engine options.  Preliminary reports indicate a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine (118 bhp & 172 Nm) and a 1.5-liter diesel engine (113 bhp & 250 Nm) will be available.  Manual and automatic transmissions are anticipated.  While unconfirmed, an electric vehicle variant with an estimated 250km real-world range is a possibility.
